GETTYSBURG — In the first round of the Gettysburg Tournament on Thursday evening, Chambersburg had little trouble disposing of winless Red Land in a boys basketball game.
The Trojans (5-3) broke to a 24-5 lead after one quarter and led 37-9 at halftime on their way to a 75-23 victory over the Patriots (0-6).
In the decisive opening period, Ethan Shreffler knocked down a trio of 3-pointers and Tyler Collier added 8 points.
Chambersburg got a career-high 14 points from Max Doctor, Shreffler had 12 points and Ty Holsopple added 10.
The Trojans, who made 13 of 17 free throws, will take on the winner of the Gettysburg vs. South Western game in the championship Friday night at 8 p.m.
