Chambersburg rdp 10/11: Girls volleyball gains win; boys soccer ties

GIRLS VOLLEYBALL
Chambersburg 3, Mifflin County 1: The Trojans found themselves in a 1-1 match after the Huskies won game 2, 25-23, but took wins of 25-17 and 25-16 to collect a Mid Penn Commonwealth win Thursday night.

Trojan assistant coach Bobby Culler said, “Mifflin is a scrappy team and they picked up a lot of balls and made us work for it. This was a good match to get everyone some playing time.”

Ally Davis had a big match with 4 kills, 26 digs and 13 service points. Marlee Wrights earned 9 kills and 5 blocks, Ashley Adams had 5 kills and 3 blocks and Ansley Runk chipped in 8 kills and 9 assists.

Also for the Trojans (10-6, 7-5 MPC), Robyn Stepler piled up 16 points (4 aces) and 33 assists, Taylor Myers had 31 digs and 19 points and Brooke Stevens contributed 8 kills.

BOYS SOCCER
Chambersburg 1, State College 1: The Trojans continued “Road Trip Week” with a Mid Penn Commonwealth tie at State College.

Chambersburg (9-4-2, 7-3-1 MPC) got a goal by Kenan Korkutovic, and Luke Myers earned the assist.

Trojan coach Corey Grove said, “The boys played well, but we just couldn’t find the back of the net.”

The team had games at Altoona on Monday, Red Land on Tuesday and State College on Thursday.
