Chambersburg 2, Red Land 0: The Trojans avenged an earlier loss to the Patriots by putting up a shutout at Trojan Stadium.
“The defense did a really nice job, limiting them to only five shots, none of which was a serious threat,” Chambersburg coach Ed Franchi said. “Alex Cottingham has been playing extremely well at right back.”
Lauren Ocker opened the scoring for the Trojans (8-6, 4-5 MPC), with a goal 15:47 into the game, assisted by Gabby Lecuona. The duo switched roles eight minutes later, with Lecuona scoring and Ocker getting the assist.
Franchi said, “They were man-marking Gabby, so I moved her around and had her playing different positions. That seemed to open her up and she was in on the scoring for both goals.”
Goalkeeper Whitney Dorcely made five saves, and her teammates got off 13 shots.
