Central Dauphin 4, Chambersburg 1: The Trojans got on the board first, and led 1-0 at halftime, but the Rams put in four second-half goals to win the Mid Penn Commonwealth matchup Saturday.
The Trojans (4-5, 2-4 MPC), who have now lost four straight, jumped out to a 1-0 lead in the 19th minute when Gabby Lecuona fed Brooke Huntsman for a goal.
But CD scored 3 goals in an eight-minute span — including two penalty kicks by Mikayla Mustard — to take the lead for good. The Rams led in shots, 17-7, and Chambersburg keeper Faith Johnson had 11 saves.
Trojan coach Ed Franchi said, “I was pleased with the energy and effort we came out with. We played a very strong first half and led 1-0. Unfortunately, we were the victim of a couple of dubious penalty kick calls and we couldn’t recover from that.”
