Southern Fulton 11 Johnstown Christian Academy 0

Warfordsburg, Pa. – Southern Fulton (2-2) scored early and often taking a 6 goal lead into halftime against Johnstown Christian Academy and tacking on 5 more goals in the second half for an 11 to 0 non league win. The Indians scoring was evenly distributed. Quaid Brady had 3 goals, Caleb Elder 2 goals and 3 assists, Darwin Magaiegos 2 goals and 1 assist, Tyler Moseman 1 goal and 2 assists, Tavita Ah Loe 1 goal and 1 assist, Tyler Youngblood 1 goal and 1 assist, Casey Spade 1 goal, and Carson Ruppenthal rounded out the scoring. Colby Whiteside had 2 saves in goal. The Indians outshot JCS 45 to 2. Hervey Hann Indians Coach commented, “Johnstown Christian did have 3 starters who chose not to make the trip with the team. With that being said, the boys definitely played a great game. They were constantly passing and talking on the field, which allowed them to move the ball up the field to be in scoring position. The freshmen and sophomores played the second half and did an excellent job. I am very pleased with all the players.” Southern Fulton returns to action on Thursday, September 13, when they travel to county and league rival McConnellsburg for a 7:45 start.

McConnellsburg 3 Conemaugh Township 2

McConnellsburg, Pa. – McConnellsburg (3-0) defeated Conemaugh 3-2 in a non league matchup. The Spartans dug themselves a hole in the beginning of the game falling behind 0-2 but quickly recovered to tie the ball game 2-2 before the half.  Landon Seiders was able to convert a penalty kick with 6 minutes remaining in the game to give the Spartans the win.  Landon Seiders scored 2 goals and Bryce Kylor added one in the win. Spartan goalie Caleb Strait recorded 8 saves. Shots on goal were even at 9 a piece. Conemaugh’s goals were scored by AJ Smolen and Brogan Berkey. The Spartans will travel to CVCS on Monday, September 10, in their next matchup.
