McConnellsburg 14 Coudersport 6
Brockway, Pa. – The Lady Spartans Softball Team continues to make school history as the knocked off Coudersport in the first round of the PIAA Class A Championships yesterday 14 to 6. McConnellsburg (12-11) banged out 22 hits in the win. Matty Ross and Destiny Hall led the team with 5 hits each. Madison Koontz and Sami Hensley added four hits while Kailey Swope had 3. Hall also picked up the win. Coach Dana Winters added, “This win was a total team effort . Everyone had a job to do and they did it . Every player hit the ball today even if it wasn’t a hit they moved the runners. Madison Koontz played well at short stop. Sydney Rezzendano scored 3 runs.” McConnellsburg will play District VII Champion West Greene on Thursday, June 7, at Somerset High School at 4:00.
