Hustontown, Pa. – Forbes Road claimed a 5-0 win over visiting McConnellsburg Friday afternoon. Brycen Hohman fired a three-hit shutout, walking two and striking out five. The Cardinals plated three runs in the second inning and single runs in the third and sixth. Caleb Voegel collected two hits for the Cardinals. Both teams enter District V playoffs next week. McConnellsburg will enter playoffs as the fourth seed in class 2A. They will travel to North Star on Tuesday. Windber will visit Conemaugh Township in the other class 2A semifinal. Forbes Road will be the sixth seed in 1A, travelling to third seeded Meyersdale on Wednesday. County rival Southern Fulton holds the top position in 1A, and they will host either Northern Bedford or Turkeyfoot Valley on Wednesday. All matchups are tentative until officially confirmed by District V on Sunday.
