The Greyhounds dropped their first game of the season 14-6 to the now front running Waynesboro Maidens on Friday.

Shippensburg (5-1, 4-1 Colonial) scored two runs in the top of the first to give pitcher Emily Wenner the lead through the first inning.

Waynesboro tallied 11 runs in the next three innings to take an 11-2 lea dafter four innings. Waynesboro smacked four home runs, 2 by Mac Miller and one each by Jenna Powell and Leslie Huckle. Kyla Kimple, Alexis Rosenberry and Huckle each had three hits for the Maidens (10-1, 5-1 Colonial).

Amber Orndorff, Wenner, and Halle Zullinger had two hits apiece for the Greyhounds.

Shippensburg hosts Cumberland Valley Monday in an attempt to get back on the winning track.
