York Suburban 3, Chambersburg 2: The Trojans fell behind 2-0 (25-22, 26-24), then ran off two straight wins (25-20, 25-22), but fell in the deciding game, 15-10, to York Suburban.
“We got big games from our hitters, but overall too many errors doomed us in this match,” Chambersburg coach Paul Schlabach said. “As a team, this is the best we have played together yet this season, even if individuals didn’t have their best match. We just can’t seem to put it all together for a full match against good teams.”
Will Simmers and Josiah Picard each earned 17 kills and Steve Swain added 12 for the Trojans (3-5). Picard also had 19 digs and 2 blocks, Trey Stepler had 9 kills and 21 digs, Wes Newman had 17 digs and Kellen Stepler added 16.
