Emily Wenner suffered through some adversity in the opening inning but made the adjustments and pitched the Greyhounds to their fourth victory in a row 9-2 over rival Big Spring at Big Spring.
Wenner allowed nine hits but only the two runs, stranding ten Bulldogs on the bases, and came up with a huge two-run double in the second inning.
The Greyhound (4-0, 3-0 Colonial) scored five runs in the opening four innings and four times in the sixth to wrap up the victory.
Wenner and Baille Jones each had two hits and Jones contributed three runs batted in while Wenner drove in two.
Bauserman had a run-scoring double in the sixth inning and Kylee Miller had a pinch hit in the seventh inning.
Amber Orndorff threw out a runner at third base from center field to cut short a Bulldog rally in the second inning.
“Emily had a couple of illegal pitches called in the first inning and she had to make some adjustments to her motion,” Greyhound coach Mike Peters said. “We left a lot of runners on base but did come up with some key hits to cash in on some opportunities.”
