The Greyhounds lost their eight-game winning streak on Wednesday but started another one on Friday as they defeated Waynesboro 43-27. They continue to stay one game in front of Big Spring in the Colonial Division.

Shippensburg will attempt to gain a tie this week for the Colonial championship for the first time since 2010. If they can knock off Greencastle-Antrim and James Buchanan this week, they will clinch a share of the championship and can win it outright next week against West Perry. This will be the scenario as long as Big Spring wins their games this week.

The Greyhounds had a strong third quarter to beat Big Spring 39-30 Tuesday night but dropped a non-league contest to Red Lion on Wednesday 37-23 as they struggled offensively after an eight-game winning streak.

Sam Barmont led the team in scoring Tuesday and Wednesday with 12 and 6 points respectively. Tori Rumbaugh had 11 Tuesday but was scoreless Wednesday. Mariah Martin had 8 and 5 respectively.

On Friday, Martin broke out with 13 points. She added five rebounds and two assists. Barmont had 11 points and 7 rebounds. Kara Newell filled a stat sheet as she scored 9 points, 6 rebounds, 5 assists, and 4 steals. The Greyhounds beat Waynesboro 43-27 and held the Maidens to five second half points.

They travel to Greencastle Tuesday, host Susquehannock Thursday and host James Buchanan Friday night.
