Greencastle boys defeat Shippensburg 61-35

It was a battle for first place in the Colonial Division and Greencastle took charge early jumping out to a 15-0 lead to start the game and defeated the Shippensburg Greyhounds 61-35. Shippensburg did come back later in the quarter to outscore Greencastle 9-2 to get back in game and trailed 17-9 at the end of the first quarter. Shippensburg could not sustain the momentum and the Blue Devils outscored the Greyhounds 43-26 over the final three quarters.

Greencastle improves to 11-2 while Shippensburg falls to 11-2. The Greyhounds had their ten game winning streak snapped. Greencastle remains undefeated in Colonial Division play at 6-0 while Shippensburg falls to 6-1.

Greencastle was lead by Bryon Gembe with 17 points, also in double figures for the Blue Devils were Jason Freeman with 14 and Ian Gelsinger with 12. Ben Freeman hit a couple of second half three pointers and finished the night with eight points. Brandon Stuhler had six and Bryson Robinson four for the Blue Devils.

Carter VanScyoc  had 14 points for Shippensburg.

The Blue Devils will host James Buchanan tomorrow night in both girls and boys action with girls game at 6:00 p.m. and boys at 7:30 p.m.

Shippensburg will host Boiling Springs tomorrow night at 7:30 p.m.
