Waynesboro wins Colonial Division Title

The Waynesboro Indians clinched the Mid Penn Colonial Division title with a 21-14 victory at Mifflin County Friday night. Waynesboro finished the year 6-0 in league play and 7-2 overall. Waynesboro will be headed to the District 3 5A playoffs for the second year in a row. The Indians are currently ranked #7 and will play the higher seed Friday November 10. The final rankings will be released over the weekend.

Mifflin County scored first with 10:02 remaining in the first quarter on a 5 yard run from Cole Baker , Davis Wagner PAT and the Huskies had an early 7-0 lead. Waynesboro got a 1 yard TD run from Isaiah Kershner and the extra point conversion from George Souders to tie the game 7-7.

Mifflin County took the lead again with 7:43 remaining in the half  on an  11 yard run from Gage Schaffer and the Wagner conversion to go up 14-7. Waynesboro tied it with 27 seconds remaining in the half on a1 yard run from Mason Frampton and the Souders PAT made it 14-14 at halftime.

Waynesboro took the lead for good with 6:49 remaining in the third quarter on a 4 yard run from Tom Drumsta and the Souders kick. The Waynesboro defense made it stand up to give the Indians the Colonial Division Championship and an undefeated league record.
