Brandon Stuhler scored four times as the Greencastle-Antrim boy’s soccer team picked up their second win to start the season, 7-2 on the road against Northern York Saturday evening.  The senior striker continues his hot start to the season as he has now scored seven times in the Blue Devils first two games.

Northern came out aggressively to start the contest scoring the game’s first goal just seven minutes into the first half.  The Polar Bear goal seemed to awaken the Blue Devils as Stuhler scored his first of the night just five minutes later.  Jared Rohrbaugh (15th minute) and Kaleb Hurley (16th minute) each added goals to give Greencastle a two-goal margin before Cameron McKee closed out the first half scoring for the Blue Devils.

“Northern came in a little quicker and a little more physical and they were fired up which caught us off guard a little bit”, said Blue Devil head coach Scott Gelsinger.  “But then we settled down after that first one and started playing.”  Gelsinger said.

The second half of the game belonged to Stuhler as he found the net three times to put the game away for Greencastle.  He has scored exactly one-half of the team’s 14 goals through the first two games.  “I really owe so much to my teammates”, Stuhler said after the game.  ” They have been giving me so many great passes and I’ve just been able to finish.”

The Blue Devil boy’s soccer team is now 2-0 on the season (2-0 Mid Penn Colonial).  They return to action Tuesday evening for another MPC contest, this one on the road against Boiling Springs.
